A week or so ago, I was at Nordstrom and saw these really cool sunglasses on a mannequin; of course I had to buy them...and at $12, they were a steal. There are two things about them that are pretty neat: 1 - the lens are mirrors and 2-they fit over my regular glasses - or otherwise, I'd not be able to see a darn thing.
I brought them home, set them aside, promptly forgetting I had them. Fast forward to today - 4th of July!
We've had a very leisurely holiday; we had no plans to go out or have people in...and it's been so beastly hot and muggy that the idea of not having to go out is very appealing. Because the National Fireworks is scheduled tonight, the Washington Nationals ( major league ball team ) played their game - here at home- at 11 am. Norman settled in to watch and I was still seated at the DR table with all my paraphanalia: journals; pens; books; iPad and iPhone, etc., spread about. I'd gone down the YouTube rabbit hole (thanks Mary!) and since I had nowhere else to be, continued exploring. For some reason, I remembered the glasses and went upstairs to retrieve them. Oh neat! Back downstairs, I tried taking selfies of me, the room, Norman, etc...the results of which you can see below.
I think I like this photo the best - it really captured the moment. I trust you holiday has been good...and considerably cooler.
Cheers~
