On my way home from a meeting last week, I saw a mom, clearly in a state of distress. Mom - a Canadian Goose with 4 or 5 goslings - was on the meridian curb, honking plaintively to her brood, all who were futilely trying to jump the height from the roadway to join her…and of course, they couldn't. Traffic stopped and several men got out to help. I suspect and trust they were successful.
I've been thinking a lot about this scene and about moms…and about how they go to whatever lengths to protect and guide their progeny. That is what moms do.
I am ever grateful to my mom for the guidance and support she gave me, my sister and her grandchildren. Though Mama is no longer alive, not a day goes by that I am not reminded of something she said or did to help me understand and/or live my best life.
And to moms everywhere, thank you. Have a great Mother's Day, everyday!
Cheers~
