September! Ah, September: here. Gone. in a flash. I generally begin each month with all sorts of energy and plans, ideas; truth be told, I suspect it could all be gathered under the umbrella of wishes...and we all know that nursery rhyme: if wishes were horses... Be that as it may, September was here ...and gone, in a flash! During the month:
- 2 : We kicked off Labor Day weekend with family gathering and a raucous game of Monopoly. Great fun!
- 3: My walk included a few rustling leaves ...
- 4 & 5: Kayla and the agenda for Chris' first day in Pre-K. I was rather amused at the display...
- 7: Sunrise...
- 9: Happy Mail! I received from KathyB for a drawing she held. Makes me smile each time I look at it!
- 10: A demonstration showing how to "paint bark on trees" during the Shades of Trees quilting workshop I attended...I've yet to try it...
- 11: My lost keys FOUND! Whew!
- 12: Second inspiration for my Shades of Trees quilt; still under construction but the end is in sight...stay tuned...
- 13: Sunset! Next up for my next Shades of Trees...
- 15: Just me during a Saturday MSQT!
- 16: Kayla! Love her dual sets of glasses...
- 17 : Norman cleaning the microwave...
- 22: The building where my first office was located when I came to MD to work in the library, Sept 1974! My office was the top three windows; a library was on the first floor. Today, this building now holds about six apartments...
- 25: Joining Jamie - host of the Journal Club - for an online Zoom session...
- 26: Norman and I met old friends from far away (Seattle) for lunch in Bethesda; this Rose“ Bar - not at our restaurant - was in the outdoor seating area and caught my attention...
- 27: I attended a second convergence quilt class; this time, we played with curves. This is my piece - still under construction...thinking about how I want to finish it...watch this space...
- 28 - 30: We met Sunday for our monthly Friendstitching gathering. The poster is on display at my friend Margaret's home. Crick was sniffing out the contents of the bag...that's my Log Cabin/9-Patch knitting ...still on the needles and also, in my hands ...and lunch: quiche, salads, fruits, and really delicious homemade cookies.... A great way to wrap up a busy month and welcome October. Aren't the pumpkins with the purple bows fun?
I love September and am always saddened to see it end...and amazed that October is moving. right. along! 90 days left in 2018!
Cheers~
