Sadie Ann's Hanging on a Star: The Witch is In
we were so busy catching up that we didn't take a single photo!
Today, longtime friends Pat, Margaret and I had lunch with another longtime friend, Barbara (Granny Babs to me) - whom we'd not seen in way too long a time. We've known one another easily thirty (!!!) years and for nearly twenty of them, spent the three-day Columbus Day weekend at a needlepoint stitching' retreat on Tilghman Island on MD's Chesapeake Bay. There was a delightful B & B that accommodated 16. On those weekends, we had the entire lodge, two cottages and the grounds, to ourselves. In addition to breakfast, the lodge owners also fixed us dinner. Granny Babs and I, roommates, generally drove up/back together.
On Christmas Day past, Granny Babs had a stroke. Fortunately, she suffered no paralysis and is in better health today than she'd been in decades. She has mood swings; probably to be expected and eagerly awaits October when she expects to be able to drive again.
On our return from the restaurant, we stopped at a quilt store - I wanted to buy some quilt rulers for Pat and Margaret (early birthday presents) and some thread...plus, one has to look around and see what's new in fabrics. On display, the quilt shown in the photo above; it spoke to Barbara. She wanted to purchase the display model but alas, it wasn't for sale! Of course, Pat and I told Barbara she/we could make the quilt - her birthday's in October, too. So, we have the pattern. Unfortunately, I looked online and haven't located the fun star hanger...yet! We have about six weeks to have a quilt-making meetup.
I still can't believe we were so busy catching up that we didn't take a single photo!
