On my walk, I took this photo, peeking through the fence...thought it’d be fun to see how it translated to Waterlogue.
We awoke to a lovely day after several very hot and uncomfortable days. I flew the deck door open and sat at the table, drinking in the coolness of the air, the bright blue sky with a puffy white cloud or two and the bright green of the trees. Birds flew back/forth, some chirping; squirrels scampered. The morning was such an invitaiton that I decided to walk to Zeke’s for coffee and a sit -out on the Avenue.
On my way, I met a woman who joined me. At Zeke’s, she shared a lot about how things were growing up -she’s a native Washingtonian resident (65 years) of the area ... all while we watched a really old tree being cut down (sadly) across the street. The crew was super skilled, especially since this was happening during rush hour traffic. Eventually, we decided that we both needed to move on - tho’ we agreed we could easily sit there all day.
Home, I’m not sure where the day’s gone...I washed several loads of laundry, baked some chicken breast tenders for dinner and started Homecoming; my library reserve came up and I’d picked it up yesterday. Mary mentions in her post that there are many characters to track...indeed! I’ve only just begun but I can already tell this is going to be a memorable book in many ways.
Stitching - knitting and quilting- have taken a back seat over the past week as I’ve been busy telling stories - making scrapbook layouts: I have about 9-10 in various stages of “in process.” My goal is to complete them by 31 of July. Can you believe that there are only 13 days left in this month?! Where does the time go?
And with that, I’ll close, finish the laundry and return to my “storytelling.” Joining Kat and others here for another Unraveled Wednesday. How’s your Wednesday coming along?
Cheers~
