Today, I met my Thursday stitchin' friends on the Smithsonian Mall. We ventured there to see the cherry blossoms in bloom...not! Tho' the sun was out and the temperature slated to climb to the low 70s...and as I compose this post it is 74°@ 4:30 pm ... it has been so cold that the blossoms haven't really begun to bloom.
C'est la vie! ... so we decided to have lunch at the National Gallery of Art's Sculpture Garden Pavilion Café - my favorite eating place on the mall. After a tasty and filling meal, we ventured over to the National Gallery of Art's Gift shop - they have the very best inventory of all the museums, in my opinion. Having filled our tummies, walked a lot and spent our money we boarded train systems for our journeys home.
Once home, I toyed around with one of my purchases: a Haiku magnetic poetry kit. I discovered that I need to be less literal and more poetic because, of course, not all the words are in the kit...here's what I created - the magnetic words are in italics
Tho' the sun was out
too cold for cherry blossoms
so we ate early...
It's a start...and fun.
