Today, my friends and I gathered for our every other month "recent reads" sharing; we've been gathering, meeting at one another's homes since 2016. This session, holidays, travels and hospitalization of close friends and family impacted our reading...we all did some but not as much as we'd planned...having said that, we had a lively discussion and a delicious lunch: a chunky beef stew, homemade cornbread and chocolate mayonnaise cake...Yum!
My turn is next: Tuesday March 20 - the first day of Spring! I think we're all looking forward to that! Especially since we've a light snow forecast for this evening...
Last fall, Kat shared The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning - she'd read a preview copy on Net Galley. I promptly went to Amazon and ordered a copy - which arrived last Tues. I haven't read yet 'cause I've a few other books in the queue...but, I share because my friend Margaret, doing a bit of seasonal closet downsizing found and gave me two handmade vests*, made by art crafts persons in the early '80s...each is extremely well crafted and indeed a work of art. I need a dress form to really show them off ...One of the things I will be doing, come Spring, is closet clearing; you can bet neither of the vests will be given away...
And that's my story of today, Tuesday 16 February 2018! And yours?
Cheers~
*The vest on the left - Irish Landscape - is reversible; on the right, styled in the Amish tradition.
