Thirty-two days ago, Dec 3, 2017, my friends and I met for our monthly Friendstitching gathering...and we also celebrated my birthday (15 November). We had a great afternoon, as always, and Margaret, Pat and Theresa showered me with a bunch of fun gifts, but of course, the best gift is their friendship. I've known Pat and daughter Margaret since 1988; Theresa (Pat's daughter-in-law) since around 2007 when she joined the family.
Today, I spent most of the afternoon in my sewing studio, looking for fabrics to use with Baby Elias' quilt...in my search, I wound up sorting through my fabric bins and discovering all sorts of goodies and things to donate. I also discovered the bag of birthday gifts from our Dec 3 gathering...meeting them again for the first time made them even more special and delightful. My friends know me too well! Among the gifts are:
- Not one but two boxes of shortbread cookies...yum...
- a fun pair of socks with a fun quilter motif...
- a bar of luxury soap with a tag line: feel the Love!...
- a 3 x 5 pocket notebook with 8 historical frames and a quote: "Each man should frame life so that at some future hour fact and his dreaming meet." ~ Victor Hugo. I'm working on it...
- a mini goals pad of 100 sheets for creating "to-do lists [that] will turn even the most notorious procrastinators into highly organized masters of efficiency." We'll see...if it doesn't happen, I'm sure it won't have been the notepad's fault...
- wooden bookmarks and a notepad replicating the old-fashioned library date due cards...they warm a former librarian's heart ...and finally...
- a box of very colorful sticky notes with an irresistible invitation to pause and drink deeply into the moments that make up my/our one wild and precious life/lives!
Today's post marks my 431st consecutive post -since 1 November 2016 - and the end of everyday blogging! On November 1, 2016 my goal was to post daily during NaBloPoMo. I did and November stretched into December and then it was January 2017. I was on a roll and the rest is history! In the back of my mind, I'd planned to end on Dec 31 and resume a M-F schedule in 2018... but 2017 ended on a Sunday and 2018 began on Monday. I decided I'd implement my new weekends off schedule, effective today, Friday 5 January 2018.
Thank you for joining me on this endeavor. I wouldn't/couldn't have done it without your cheering me on. Have a great weekend and if it's still frigid in your parts - as it is here - stay warm. I'll be back Monday.
Cheers~
