"Experimenting...I hung the moon on various branches of the pine."
~Hokusai
Saturday night, on my way home from the hospital, I drove by the Franciscan Monastery. The night was clear and the moon, nearly full, shone high in the sky, holding forth and inviting me to stop, gaze, take a photo or two and appreciate the beauty and peace of this planet and galaxy and unknown, mysterious universe in which we live.
I pulled into the Monastery's parking lot ( encouraged by the fact there were two police cars, occupied - the officers chatting with one another - so I felt super safe ), got out and snapped a few photos. Clearly, the iPhone leaves a bit to be desired ... but I am OK with the photo for I was capturing and appreciating the peacefulness, place and magic of the moment.
Just what my soul needs.
