On Monday, 26th June, I ordered a small tool - a plastic template I could use in my journaling. The company, located in Ohio, processed the order and the usual USPS shipping/tracking notice appeared in my mailbox. I clicked to see where the item was, en route, only to be greeted with a message to the effect that USPS had been alerted to the upcoming shipment...not that the item had actually been received and was on its way.
Several days passed; I checked again. Still the same message. Friday, I checked again...status quo... So, I contacted the seller who responded that my package had indeed shipped and I should expect it in the next day or so...
On Saturday, July 1: In my email, a message from the vendor. There was a problem with my order...and about 30 others. Apparently, on June 26th, the vendor had delivered the package - mine and the - 30 0thers to the post office. And there the packages languished...for six days. No one had bothered to check the packages in or even inquire about them! To say the seller was chagrined...well, that's putting it mildly. After discussions with USPS Customer Service, the vendor was assured and assured me (and the others whose package was among the group) that our mail was on the way and we should receive after the holiday.
Today, I checked my tracking number again, and indeed, the package is en route - with an anticipated Thursday 6 July delivery date. We'll see; I'm not holding my breath...
Other than that, mail has been the usual...
Lucky us: temps in the 90s today; tomorrow, more of the same + thunderstorms. Have a great 4th! And those of you who are furiously knitting for the 4-Day KAL, GO! GO! GO!
Cheers~
