...is darn near everyday! Honestly! Yep, there may be times during the day when things or I are askew, like today: Norman lost the cursor on his PC and it took a few frustrating minutes to find it...secret to our success: restart the computer! Being in protirement allows both of us pretty much absolute control over how we spend each day:
- sleep in or up early
- an occasional medical or other appointment
- a trip to the grocery store - Norman goes (walks) several times a week; he likes to go to the grocery store
- a walk or several
- an interesting movie or a ballgame on TV or some other event (as this week's firing of the FBI director). Stop and watch or not.
- somedays just doing nothing is ideal..or a nap. I am not much of a napper, preferring to go to bed early when I'm sleepy. Norman often naps.
Thinking about this week's TWTh topic,I wrote in my journal, :
- Home alone ;-)). There's just something special about being in the house, alone with just one's thoughts (which is probably why I start my day pretty early and enjoy MSQT -morning solitude and quiet time - so very much. I get a taste of Me Alone time;
- All day in jammies?...somedays, it happens;
- Light classical music or jazz playing on the TV;
- Good book/s to devour;
- Sunny and pleasant temps - low or preferably no humidity- perfect for
- A long walk;
- All chores done and the larder is full;
- Protein packed breakfast. Fruit & cheese for lunch;
- Pizza, salad and champagne for dinner;
- Stitching: I especially like being in my sewing studio in the mornings - the sun bathes the room and it is ever so pleasant;
- Knitting (the little I do) is a pleasant diversion; in my next life I'm going to be able to knit without looking (I actually read an Interweave Press article with tips on how to build that skill; I can get started now!
- Friday's Journal Club. Right now we are on break, but our session resumes May 26. Yay!
- An hour or so at Starbucks or Panera - when I can squeeze it in. I take my iPad and my journal;
- Gathering with family, friends, preferably in person but online via FaceTime or Skype or Zoom works... and daily texts with family and friends;
- Witnessing and Experiencing spectacular sunrises and sunsets!
As I brainstormed this list, I pulled on what makes me feel good, happy, and those elements of my day that I have and totally appreciate, nearly every day. I am content, eager to experience and engage with the time and my schedule or lack of one and I enjoy the peace that comes. And oh, I should add: Doing all of the above in my most favorite place in all the world - Sisters, Oregon - would truly be the icing on the cake!
