Last week's mail was slim, other than the usual charitable donation letters and a utility bill - most come digitally but we do receive the Verizon statement (and that's a whole other story that were I to share, I might not ever get this post written). Activity during the week was light tho' I did spend a delightful morning with three friends sharing a few of the books we'd read in the eight weeks preceding. Always a treat and we do enjoy the time together immensely, especially the afters: delicious brunch.
Today was the second quilt group meeting after the quilt show...many of us knitting rather than stitching/quilt-making. I guess we were all "quilted out" and needed a slight diversion; even I took knitting... I do have a few quilting projects I plan to resume tomorrow:
- one: postcards for Sisters' Annual Outdoor Quilt Show's fundraiser and
- two: my 100 Day Project. It has slowly begun to take form in my mind and on paper and I'm eager to spend some time and attention on bringing my ideas into a recognizable thing.
So, onto the mail's highlights; I received:
- a postcard from the US Postal Service announcing a new service: in my email, if I choose to sign up, I will get a daily email showing which "letter-sized mail will be arriving soon to my mailbox. If I were looking for a letter from a long-lost friend or lover or a check for a gazillion dollars, I might be tempted...
- a note of congratulations for my Flower Garden quilt's 3rd place ribbon, written on a beautiful card. The words were just perfect. T'was a delightful and unexpected piece of mail.
And that does it for this week's edition. Do hop over to Sian's From High in the Sky to see what others found in their mail last week. Anything exciting or surprising in your mailbox recently?
Cheers~
