1 PM EDST
Today began the summer session of Journal Club! Yay! We gathered in our Zoom Room and spent a delightful hour reconnecting with old journal club members plus getting to know a few new ones. My friend Laura and I were totally delighted, basking in the fact that we'd just spent two FriYAYs ago with one another, on our way to Delaware to meet up with friend Kathy. That weekend passed too quickly and it seems like eons have elapsed since.
In Journal Club, one of the things we do is document our day, thus far. Since members are from all over the world, it's fascinating to read what we've each shared. For some, the day is over, others just beginning and many, it's in the middle. I wrote:
- slept in til 7 am -really late for me ...
- finished my first read of The Memoir Project ...
- walked to Zeke's - my neighborhood coffee shop; sat outside in the sunshine and finished listening to a podcast...
- returned home, showered, shampooed hair and remembered to make an appointment for next week with my hairdresser...
- ate both breakfast and lunch today before 1 PM...
- realized that today is a Z day - and even if I don't have a kit, I do have a story - in fact several to gather and merge into one for my About Me A:Z project...
Another journaling exercise involves doodling...my least favorite activity. Today we drew flowers (guess what mine are supposed to be) and then, write beside each one an activity we plan to engage in over the summer. Each 10 weeks' session, Jamie also pulls a Medicine card that features a guiding animal; this session's is the deer. We then wrote our initial reaction, thoughts about Deer's symbolism to us...mine is the paragraph above the doodles.
I feel refreshed, ready to move onto the rest of the weekend...tho' it's probably going to be pretty wet. Oh well...it's still FriYAY and at 5:17 the sun continues to shine!
Cheers~
