Today was our monthly Friendstitchin' Sunday gathering. For lunch we ordered Chinese and had delicious madeleines for dessert. One was just enough. Each month, the hostess usually treats everyone with a favor; this month, Pat gave us each a delightful bookmark. Mine is a butterfly and I just love it...plus it will indeed come in handy for summer Book Bingo. I shared it with them so I think they may also play.
I took a couple small knitting projects, thinking I'd start each and a single quilt block I needed to make. I got the block made but not without difficulty. It wasn't hard, just not very intuitive...but, it's done and thankfully, friend Pat had fabric cause I made a mistook, thus needing another 6" x 6" square of white fabric.
Pat's been sick for the past couple weeks - the respiratory illness that got me and my sister and many others down this winter...and it hangs on and on and on... Consequently, Pat's had time (and when she's had the energy ) to work on a few quilting projects - one that she (we both) started in 2008?! And a new one started just before she got sick. Margaret is making a delightful needle case and Theresa, this scarf.* I liked the scarf so much that I ordered yarn (teal/turquoise/lime green) to knit one too - for me!
Other than the quilt block, I didn't do much of anything else...I had a dull headache most of the afternoon... even tho' I drink green tea in the morning, there is some caffeine in it and I only had one mug today.
Next month, it will just be Margaret and me...Pat and Theresa will be in Aruba. Lucky them!
Cheers~
*I see I neglected to take a picture of Theresa's WIP; sorry Theresa.
