Prologue: 6 PM. A slow, rainy saturday. not much get up-n-go in these parts...think it must be the rain. Norman just went for a walk in between rain drops. I decided early today that I'd keep a running account of the day, so here t'is with a bit of editing:
snippets from my journal~
8:15 am ~ 59 degrees | cloudy: big gathering on the Mall in support of Earth/Science Day. I'm not going physically but there in spirit. I'm eager to finish the tea wallets and get into stitching for my #the 100day project. Listening to the quiet: frig humming, pen moving across the page as I write, birds tweeting; still coughing. NTS: take claritin...
9:16 am ~ sipping from my second cuppa tea; reading a bit from Crossroads of Should and Must by Elle Luna, co-creator of #the 100day project. Glad I bought and finally got around to reading...What are my Shoulds/Musts? I draw a T-square in my journal and make a note to do the exercise on pps 51-52, later.
10:17 am - N's up and fixing his usual breakfast: apple/banana/and baked chicken; today, he's having a muffin instead of toast. On goes the TV - listening to authors of Shattered on Hillary's loss of the presidential election. Check out Amazon: only available as an ebook or audio...apparently print copies are out of stock for 1-2 months. Local public library's 4 copies are all on reserve! Of course... The cat makes sure she's seen - time for some food!
12:25 pm - In Morning Glory Studio (aka sewing room): tasting again for the (ahem, umpteenth) first time, tea wallets; stitching this time around a breeze! Hear N practicing SAXOPHONE! haven't heard that sound in a l-o-n-g while. Go downstairs to investigate...yep.
1:30 pm - Tea Wallets pressed; just need to finish hand stitching. YAY! Fiddling around with a placemat and the corded ribbon...think I have an idea for the mandala & cording. Silence below...N's probably on his computer or taking a nap...
3:30 pm - I fix late lunch/early supper: mini crabcakes and cabbage//kale salad...
4:20 pm - N turns on TV; first he starts watching a movie on Woodrow Wilson and then turns to Disney's 101 Dalmations with Glenn Close and then the Cubs and Cincinnati ball game; I join him, my book in hand. Game over. Cubs win. Go Cubs!
5:15 pm - N catnaps during ball game; I read a bit more of Still Life (Louise Penny's Inspector Gamache series) and decide to go upstairs to draft the blog post...and to look at contents of this month's Ali Edwards' Story Kit - Lens - that arrived today. Select some of the cards for today's entry for the week's Week in the Life Album. Perfect timing.
6 pm - N goes for a walk and I put a bottle of champagne in the 'frig to chill. Planning to spend the evening reading, stitching, playing with the mandal idea and sipping champagne...
And that's the way it's been on this Saturday 22 April 2017.
Cheers~
