Tomorrow marks the end of the Quilt Show for another two years. We are all bone tired and exhilarated. It has been a great show, lots of hard work and glorious quilting and creativity on display. For the final entry, i went through the photos I'd taken and made a collage using the Collect pp. The numerals are not dates of the month but I am using some to share a little more detail about some of the quilts.
Numbers 2 and 3 are from the same quilt; #2 is a closeup of a block- this is a Baltimore Album Quilt and what makes it so unique is that all the fabric used has dots or circles. A clever twist for a quilting icon.
Number 5 is made from fabric selvedges.
Number 8 was one of several quilts for sale, made by members; this was a first offering at the quilt show. Sales were good.
Number 11 is the hand stitched quilt my friends Margaret and Pat made; absolutely stunning.
Number 13 is "Carmie's Quilt" that a group of us made last summer; Carmie died March 2016 and she had planned to make the quilt for her son who had married in Oct 2015. So, we made the quilt for them.
Number 18 is my friend Pat's quilt,"Flower Pot." You may notice that her top and bottom borders are similar to my Flower Garden borders. I opted to use her pattern rather than the one that came with my quilt...
Number 23 is made so that one can use either end of the quilt at the top or bottom of the bed. It's hard to see the full quilt and it is beautifully made.
Today, Friday April 28, we had a guest speaker , Barbara Dahlberg, who presented a trunk show. She is quite the talented quilter and her work is gorgeous and oh so creative. Numbers 27-29 are just three of the 40 or so quilts she shared. On Tuesday 9 May, she is doing a workshop on Number 29 - it's called a "convergence" quilt; I plan to take the workshop! Watch this space. And finally,
Number 30 is yours truly with my Flower Garden quilt...
Now, time for a glass of wine...
Cheers~
