As the 6 pm anchor opening the evening news said: "Today has been miserable, cloudy, wet and cold..." But do not despair...near the end of the week, we may temps in the 90s." Quilting meeting today - our last before the Quilt Show opens Thursday morning at 10 AM, sharp. We're all busily putting on the finishing touches to our own entries plus gearing up to spend the next two days setting up - transforming the church's (where we meet ) various rooms and halls into galleries, vendor's shops, etc. The show closes at 3 pm Saturday and then we spend the next three hours dismantling, restoring rooms to their original state, packing up, and clearing out for a 7 pm wedding that's scheduled to take place. Last week I documented daily, the week. This week, I will be slowing down tho' I intend to maintain daily posting...my intent is to continue until I don't or can't.
Mail this past week was pretty slim - just the usual spiced up by several books from Amazon. There was, however, a bit of mail revealed that was actually delivered last October: the blooming of Iris that I'd planted. I'd received an email from the company - American Meadows -reminding me that a) soon I'd see blooms and b) if not, I could receive a full refund. 100% customer satisfaction is their promise. I'd begun to think that the bulbs weren't going to sprout and had made note to contact the company when, what to my delight Friday, I looked out the window and saw a blob of blue-purple color. Out to investigate and sure enough: a bloom. Today, of the dozen planted, 4 have bloomed, 4 are about to and 4 are still to reveal. It appears that I have an assortment of colors: blue; purple, yellow, white, which delights me to no end. A gardener I am not tho' I love gardens and I am so looking forward to planting more lilies and other perennials. Who knows, perhaps in my old/er age I will consider myself a gardener, of sorts...
Joining in again with Sian From High in the Sky; do drop by and see what others have shared this week.
Cheers~
