Today, I started making the binding, all 412 inches for my Flower Garden quilt. I decided I'd make continuous bias binding as described here. Today I had absolutely zilch success with the binding - the part that begins with this sentence: "(Diagram III). Offset the drawn lines by one strip." And if you have a few spare minutes, do check out the video - very illuminating...
So, slightly frustrated because this is not the first time I've made a continuous bias binding (tho' it may be the last!)...and looking at the clock: 4:30 pm, I decided to go on my walk - clearly long overdue - and to stop at the library for The Night Gardner, recommended by Kat in her post today...
My local library's copy was out - mais oui - so the librarian put in a request to have a copy sent from a branch that had copies available - practically every other branch in the DC Public Library system. As the request was being processed, I noticed that my email address was wrong - which meant I'd never get the notice...The librarian attempted to correct the data but his computer kept timing out...Fortunately, the circulation clerk was able to correct the error - his computer behaved. When I registered for my card, the clerk completed the form and apparently mistyped my email address...
And that's the way it's been...the best part of today is it's bébé Chris' mom Dolly's 31st birthday. Hard to believe. I remember oh so well when she was just a bébé herself. Happy Happy Dolly!
