(photo of me, May 2012)
Generally we receive the week's ThinkWrite Thursday prompt challenge on Sunday. This week's came as scheduled, inviting us us to a) look in the mirror and b) share three things we'd tell ourselves. Whee! A tough one! I thought...I'll think about that later and proceeded with other things. So, this Thursday morning as I was getting dressed, the brain in all its wonder and as it is apt to do, reminded me of the photo above, taken in May 2012 and the post I'd written to accompany it! Aha! I thought, I'll just reprise it...that will make short shrift of the prompt and be easy to do. Ha! For starters, I wasn't finding the post and I wasn't sure when I'd taken the photo and I didn't have time to search through 19K and counting photos - no, I don't tag my photos...I remembered that I'd also made several scrapbook layouts using the photo and figured if push came to shove, I could always take a photo of the photo... So, about 5:30 pm, I sat down at the computer to begin the post and started to search again, when I found :
aha #1: wanting to be cloned : this post from January 13, 2012, #11. "I once read a science fiction novel about cloning... struck me that it would be great to have a bunch of little Honorés, each one doing all the things I want to do and just can't fit all into a day's or maybe, even a lifetime's, schedule"...
aha #2: what goes around comes around ...upon finding the layouts, I saw that today I had on very similar but not the same clothes: blue jeans, a blue shirt and a white long-sleeved tee...my hair is longer in the photo than it is currently, tho not by much and the style is basically the same...
aha #3: wondering: am I any closer today than I was five, FIVE years ago to ??? Clearly, a lot has happened in the intervening years - not to mention currently...Those years have been, by and far, good ones, but I must ask myself is life any different and if so, how? That's a question that I think I will ponder for some time to come...
In the process of doing all the above this afternoon/early evening, I also ran into a computer glitch with my Mac that necessitated upgrading my operating system <smile> and three customer service assistance calls with Apple - love that they are there and so helpful!
This was an intriguing prompt. Thanks loads Carole and Kat. You can read more here. Enjoy!
Cheers~
