- Tops on our list today was grocery shopping...and that we did, going to two stores...
- Sunday, I went to Barnes & Noble and planned to go to Staples (office supply for photo paper) and Michael's (craft ) stores...realized on my way home, I'd forgotten so added that to today's itinerary, after we took groceries home and put them away plus have a bite to eat...
- Drove up/down US Rte 1 three times: twice south and once, north; I think my car knows the way blind-folded...
- Discarded the pumpkins and mums from the front steps...
- Discovered three shingles that had been blown from the roof over the weekend ...I'm pretty sure; guess that means a call to the roofer for a check...
- Stopped at Starbucks for a venti cuppa hot water and one and one-half pumps of pumpkin spice syrup...I use to sweeten my tea...this franchise always has very interesting and seasonally appropriate flower arrangements from a local florist.
On one of my trips going south on US 1, as I traveled through U of MD/College Park campus, I saw two guys, students I suspect, taking photos of one white tennis shoe, propped on a concrete column...and at the craft store, a young girl, maybe 9-10 years old, stretched out on an empty display rack, taking a quick power nap...
AND, AND on my last trip down US 1 today, headed home, the most amazing, magnificent sunset I've seen in a long time This was a time that I really wished I could be cloned: one of me drive while the other, takes pictures. As I drove, I thought about the tragic events that punctuate our daily lives and I was saddened that we humans can't, don't appreciate the natural beauty of this world or one another. It is not lost on me that the results of November 8 were ratified today...but I shall keep my eyes and actions focused on bringing beauty and peace into my life and the lives of others with whom I interact. I can do that.
Cheers~
