Helloooo...monday, august, a new week, a new month ... Not sure what happened to July: it seems to have flown by with speed despite the unrelenting days of heat, heat, and more heat. Looking over the photos I COLLECTed above and my planner/journal notes, life was busy:
My favorite day of all was the exhibit at the Textile Museum on July 2: a perfect day weather wise with best friends ...
Norman's chatting away on the phone - Day 3 and a shot of him fixin' his usual breakfast, Day 12. His shirt reads: "Just a kid from Chicago."
We celebrated the 4th in front of the TV...never realizing that some of the fireworks' shots were from previous years...lots of cloud cover that night...
The pup, Day 7, is Klohe´ - a friend was dog sitting while Klohe´'s owner was in Turkey...
I participated in a month-long photo prompt: Colorful Summer. Photos 5,6,11,21,23 & 24 were some I took. Our prompt on the 23rd was to find a public telephone...ha! I wasn't able to find any in this age of smart phones but I remembered the tiny replica of a British red telephone I had and substituted that. Clever me ;-))!
Days 15th and 16th ~ a sunrise and sunset, respectively...and on the 17th, two of my monthly Sunday stitchin' friends and I met...our other two friends were away. As always, we had a wonderful time and got a lot of stitchin' done...
Every couple months, my friends and I meet and share what we've recently read.. . Day 19 shows our feet as we waited for our fourth member to arrive...after we shared our books, our hostess treated us to a superb luncheon: gazpacho, shrimp pasta salad and a delicious lemon meringue pie...all made from scratch. Good friends, good books good food!
I resumed knitting my poncho most nights during the month...the 25th shows that I have about 15 inches to go and then I'll be ready for step two!
Both N and I had medical appointments so we each spent time waitin' during the month, me on the 28th ...
And on Day 30, a photo of me stripping the bed...laundry...
On Sunday, 31st, I walked to Zeke's for coffee and a sit outside ...it was actually cool enough early in the day.
And that's some of the way it was in July! Lookin' forward to August... no big plans, just taking life, one day at a time! Anything special on your agenda?
Cheers~
