(this is a collage of some of the many items that can be bought at the grocery store as gift items...)
This day - Monday - started out with three things on my agenda:
- Attend my quilting association's annual holiday luncheon, arriving about 11 AM to hang my Crimson Tweed quilt (we always bring in quilts to have on display for special programs). So, I packed my dish and quilt and a few other items, left home about 10 AM - it's about an hour's drive - and after about 20 minutes, found myself in a traffic queue, stopped by the police. I reached for my cell phone only to remember that I'd left it home, charging...so, when I had an opportunity, I turned around, returned home and started out again...this time, on a different route. I arrived about 11:45 , hastily set out my dish, and fixed my plate. Left my quilt in the car since it was so late and there wasn't any room left to display, anyway.
- Attend my once-monthly-afternoon-embroidery stitching session; I was late arriving - but t'was OK cause attendance was really sparse. We worked on a special project; can't say I made much - if any - progress but it was great to sit -n-stitch and relax.
- Stop, on my way home, at the grocery store to a) get bananas and b) meander through the store to gather ideas for Tuesday's Ten on Tuesday prompt. There are all sorts of things one can find at the grocery store for gifts ~ ranging from food to eat and /or give, such as cheeses, fruit baskets, to flowers and evergreens to toys to books to candy to jewelry to dishes. I bought two poinsettias and left... Nearly home, I remembered I'd not bought bananas...so, of course, I had to stop. By this time, it had begun to rain fairly hard so I dashed in/out of the store and finally arrived home about 6 pm... kinda tired and very happy to be home!
For the 10th thing on the grocery store gift list, I'll add a bottle of wine...just for days like this day!
Cheers~
