Today, Carole's Ten on Tuesday prompt: Ten Things I love about my house ~here goes!
- It's home! Nothing beats returning home after a trip…or even a long day away.
- My morning vista: In January we did a little switching of rooms - turned the Dining Room into a TV viewing space and the Great Room - the dining room. Lovin' it. Now, every morning during my MSQT - Morning Solitude and Quiet Time - I get to see the sunrise/dawn break and in the evenings: the sunset.
- Main living space is all on one floor (except bedrooms). Ten years ago, we built an addition. Now, there is a bathroom on the first floor and the washer/dryer are in the kitchen.
- Modern kitchen with lots of cabinet/cupboard spaces and an electric cooktop island.
- Palladian windows and skylight in the addition let in lots of light!
- Central A/C…and the vents are in the ceiling - makes a huge difference in keeping the upstairs cooler, too!
- Garage: we also built a stand alone two-car garage - all brick. Great during winter snows; don't have to clean off cars.
- A man cave for him and a loft for me with full bathrooms on each floor. We each have our own space to relax and engage in our individual creative pursuits.
- Location: walking distance to major rail/bus lines in case we want go down to the Smithsonian Mall, Capitol building, national museums, etc...
- It's home! Been here for nearly thirty years!
