Welcome Summer 2015! Here's what is in store...
1. Read: I always have a list of books, most in my possession, in a state of either being read or waiting to be read. About a week ago, I cleared a cubby in my cabinet for the books I am reading and plan to read…or at least start...this summer. I trust I will finish all - or maybe not - before the year is out. Of course, these books don't include the ones on my Kindle app that are also in progress. I plan to read at least a few fiction titles -not my go to reading of choice - to the mix and also, try some audio books. Not sure how my list will coincide with Book Bingo but I'm including it, too!
2. Go: Last summer we never made it to the ocean. It's about a two hours' drive away and so, this year, I'm planning two, at least, day trips…hopefully one will include the bébé . His mom's taking classes (working on her LPN) so that might not work… I also hope to make at least one day trip to a quilt store in Delaware.
3. Stitch: More free time to spend in my sewing studio. A not-so-new-butsomewhat-so project involves creative stitching: essentially embroidery and fancy stitches on fabrics. I plan to spend a little more time developing my repertoire of stitches… and my skills. Of course, I am continuing with my Flower Garden project and the others on my plate.
4. Connect: I have friends and cousins who are past due a "hello" from me! I am going to step up my analog methods - via snail mail and voice!
5. Make: A few years ago, I started an art journal and occasionally, I dip into it. I'm hoping to spend more time these late summer afternoons creating in my art journal; I really want to incorporate that practice into a weekly - mostly daily - routine. And in that same vein, I am continuing my current morning practice of seeing as in drawing/sketching and watercoloring.
6. Garden: Today, I'm out to buy some bright flowers for my containers - ceramic pots. Friday, we spent about three hours weeding; the trouble with weeds is they are indigenous, so I've promised Norman that I'll weed once a month during the summer, if for no other reason than this activity contributes, at least monthly, to the next:
7. Move: I'm trying to reach 10K -a-day steps, at least 4 out of 7 days a week. Somedays, I am not as active as I should be so I need to make a more conscientious effort to be active.
8. Tidy: As in decluttering, a never ending process! There are three small closets filled with fabric, art supplies, etc that I plan to empty in July!
9. CHRONICLE: Since the first of the year, I've missed a total of 16 days of my plan of daily documenting in the Day One app…and I've made/kept notes and gathered ideas in my journals and on my calendar. Good enough…but now's the time to begin to create some sort of semblance of order and organization, to come up with and to implement a P-L-A-N to pull all this together into a recognizable structure aka a book!…of some sort!
10. Enjoy: Despite the fact that it appears this is going to be a long, hot summer, we're looking forward to chillin' and enjoying friends and family. Here's to the best summer ever!
Cheers~
