Honoré here: I'm at loose ends at the moment...not quite sure what I want to do, next: read, knit, journal, make ATCs (artist trading cards), play around some more with the iMac and learn a little more, blog ...
Well, since I'm typing this post, guess that means blogging won out, at least for the time being. Now what to write? Oh yes, today's Ten on Tuesday prompt: things I do everyday. Let's see:
- Wash my face, brush my teeth and comb my hair when I first get up
- Put on my robe
- Go downstairs to the family room
- Turn on a lamp and place a side table between the two recliners
- Boil a cup of hot water in the microwave for tea
- Pour a glass of orange juice, about 1/4 cup
- Fix a tall glass of ice water
- Place all on a tray and carry to my chair
- Sit down, take a deep breath, exhale, take in the early morning silence and light of dawn and
- Acknowledge that Morning Solitude and Quiet Time has quietly begun.
Morning Solitude and Quiet Time is a habit I've had for 20+ years and the way I start my day, 365 days of the year. Regardless of where I am or how early my day has to begin, I take the time to begin the day's journey in a calm frame of mind. I love this alone time, this opportunity to check in with myself and to appreciate life and to give gratitude. During MSQT, I read, journal, make plans for the day, week, month, or sit and do nothing. Somedays, MSQT is brief, 30-45 minutes and others, it may stretch to 2-3 hours. Just depends. Whatever, it is a way of life for me.
