On May 1, I went to Sisters, Oregon for another round of the Intuitive Color & Design workshop (with Jean Wells, founder and owner of the Stitchin' Post quilt shop and the annual Outdoor Quilt Show, held in July.) This year, three friends (we met at last year's workshop) and I rented a house and spent the first 10 days in Sisters, stitchin', eating, drinking wine and just really having ourselves a grand time. The workshop was just as exciting and inspiring as last year's, perhaps if not moreso. The best part of the trip was waking up to this view every day: the Sisters' Mountains.
One evening, we four just sat and watched a spectacular sunset; that had to be one of the most tranquil moments I've ever spent.
I returned home in the wee small hours of the morning on May 11 and it took me several days to re-acclimate myself to the change in time zones. Then, I got caught up returning to the real world: laundry, grocery shopping, preparing for an online class and a workshop - both which are "work" for this career grad (read retired person) - and a few sundry and assorted other things...like starting a new knitting class: the Jali Cardigan. Of course, I have a couple several other knitting projects yet to complete.
May's One Little Word prompt focuses on Tasks/Missions/Goals/Objectives/Stuff to Tackle/... I've spent many hours thinking and journaling about how I want to a) live out my word on a daily basis in those areas I've identified as V.I. P for me and b) how I can best document it all. I have journals & scrapbbok pages in various stages; photos that need purging, organizing, editing; too many projects and project ideas; online classes (for fun) and, and... I don't think I'll run out of Tasks/Missions/Goals/Objectives/Stuff to Tackle/ in the foreseeable future. Nope that's not a problem. Rather, my big question: what's the best way to proceed, to accomplish it? (And to be upfront, since my return, I also spent a few days rearranging my studio. I bought an Expedit bookcase from IKEA before I left and decided it needed to be relocated. That of course morphed into decluttering, purging supplies and rearranging files and bins and baskets and... I've still a few files/baskets to sift through and then I'll be done . Everything will be visible, labeled, in zones and most importantly, accessible).
Writing this post has caused me to realize that I've made considerable progress on several fronts tho' not necessarily what I thought would be the case. Nor did I keep track of my A-list during the month. Rather, there is still a lengthy list and a variety of notes scribbled here n' there in my planner, ideas rummaging around my head, some discontent that I don't have it as all- together as I think I want it to be, etc, etc. But I think I'm close to tying these shoelaces, too... and back on track. It feels right.
Cheers~
