Honoré here: Here it is Thursday already; my, how the week has flown by. On Tuesday, I went shopping for clothing, something I rarely do because I find it a pain on various levels. For one, I usually do not like the styles nor the fabric. Secondly, sizes are rarely true (at least in my case) and thirdly, I get tired of taking clothes on and off. However, I really did need to buy some new jeans and shoes, so I went to my favorite place, Nordstrom, to spend my money. And that I did.
First, I treated myself to a luscious lunch of roasted veggies, basil tomato soup, cornbread and an oatmeal cookie ...ooh, so hard to resist. I love oatmeal cookies.
Fortified, I tackled the clothing department. My eye was totally drawn to this blouse; I think I liked it because of the mix of colors - which are my happy colors palette - and it sort of reminds me of a quilt. I took this picture in the dressing room; it gives the best view of both front and back. Best part of this purchase: the blouse was on sale.
I also bought a pair of jeans that had to have the hem altered. I love the company name: " Not Your Daughter's Jeans" and yes, they do fit the body of a sixty-something years old woman.
Next, the shoe department. I shall refrain from commenting on today's styles;suffice it to say they are definitely not for me! I did bring home a pair of walking shoes, a pair of slip-ons and I also bought a pair of TOMS. With every pair of shoes purchased, TOMS gives a pair of new shoes to a child in need. I like that.
My last purchase took me to L.L.Bean. About five years ago, I bough three 2-piece cotton knit casual top/pants sets. They were comfortable, basically stylish and easy to care for - just wash and drip dry. I was hoping enough time had elapsed that perhaps there would be a similar product...not to be, though. So, I wound up only purchasing one pair of cotton drawstring, three-quarter length pants in a nice aqua/teal color. They will look nice with the blouse. Having spent all day and all my money and energy, I came home.
And that's the way it was, Tuesday, April 20, 2010.
Cheers~
