*Translation: the TV died...R.I.P.
Yesterday, Monday 10 April, the TV died...at least the picture and sound disappeared and we cannot a) turn the DirecTV box or b) TV OFF! We called in DirecTV and the tech concluded that the problem is with the TV...mais oui (but of course).
What does one do without TV in the PM?
- No baseball;
- No news; (thankfully);
- No music;
- No movies - we couldn't even watch any of Norman's DVDs - he has quite a collection...
So, we chatted and watched the sun go down. I leafed through a magazine and some books on landscaping - nothing too elaborate - and container gardening. Norman watched some YouTube videos on his computer. And oh yes, I had a glass of champagne. And then we retired. I read some and turned the lights out about 10 PM. Tonight will be more of the same...which is fine by both of us.
Tomorrow we will probably connect with a few repair people to schedule some appointments so they can determine what the actual problem is...it's likely though we will wind up buying a new TV, probably for half the price we paid in 2010 and get a second one free.
And that's the way it is around here...but not to complain because we've had a lovely spring day: warm - mid 80s - with lots of sunshine. As I am wrapping up this post, birds are singing lovely evening serenades. Life is good!
