Early. Very. 5:35 am. Contemplating today ...and this blog post ...lots of ideas but, I think, they belong to other days, this month. Taking a photo of my new down-filled pillow, an idea floats by: perhaps I'll write about standing.
Last week I read an article in the Washington Post about "standing desks" at work. The idea - standing desks, not working - intrigues me and ever since, I've been contemplating moving the iMAC; I have a cabinet in my studio that could accommodate my iMAC and I can use the tablespace for other things. Besides, I think, I stand a lot when I'm quilting, making a scrapbook layout or working in my art journal. Several years ago, I even actually saw, and contemplated buying, a stand-up sewing machine cabinet. Why didn't I?, you wonder. Well, I was in Oregon at the time and we figured the cost for shipping would be prohibitive. And we couldn't find one on the east coast. And...
I'm sure you're lost about the connection between a pillow and standing. Well, you know the brain acts in mysterious ways. I bought the pillow to use with my chair - the chair's a tad too low and the seat's too deep for me. With the pillow, I find it's easier to sit and to stand up .
That does make perfect sense, no? I think this all comes with old age ;-)).
Here's wishing you a happy Monday!
