Honoré here: Today's Ten on Tuesday prompt is " ten things in your purse." I don't really carry a purse on a daily basis, but rather, a bag. I find a bag handy for a lot of reasons: it accommodates a lot of things and can take a beating; it fits on my shoulder; its portability; and it serves very conveniently as a shopping bag for a bunch of bananas, some printer ink, a new magazine, and sometimes a project bag for knitting, hand quilting, etc. So, with that in mind, I share what's currently and generally in my bag/purse:
- camera and iPhone
- Circa planner
- an umbrella
- my travel tea mug
- an IKEA shopping list/floor map
- a flyer announcing an upcoming quilt show
- an expired debit card - oops, glad I found this, meant to shred it; and
- two mesh zippered bags: the larger one holds toiletries, e.g., lip balm, tissues, hand sanitizer and lotion; peppermint Altoids; a folding brush w/mirror; a cloth to clean my glasses; a Tide mini stain remover.paper toilet seat liners and purse-sized tissues. The smaller bag contains 2 pens, a pencil & refill lead; a pad of sticky-notes; punch cards from knitting & quilting shops; a couple 3 x 5 grid index cards with my contact information; and a notepad.
Gathering the data for this post was a great incentive for me to a) clean out my bag and b) remember that it's time to make a new bag for the Spring...now, where did I put that pattern and fabric I bought last year when I was in Sisters, OR?
